Pilates Six: Rooted in Principles. Driven by Purpose

The Pilates method is guided by six timeless principles — designed to strengthen your body and sharpen your mind.

  • Control

    arrow

What it Means:Every movement in Pilates is intentional. Control means moving with precision rather than momentum.

Why it Matters:When you control your body, you build the strength to master your life — physically and mentally. True power begins with discipline.

  • Concentration

    arrow

What it Means:Pilates is a mind-body discipline. Concentration deepens your connection to each movement and muscle.

Why it Matters:Presence brings purpose. When you fully engage your mind in your movement, you leave distractions behind and reclaim focus in all areas of life.

  • Core

    arrow

What it Means:Your core — or “powerhouse” — is the center of all movement. It includes your deep abs, lower back, hips, and pelvic floor, working together to support and stabilize your body.

Why it Matters:A strong core improves posture, balance, and control. It helps you move better, feel stronger, and protect your body from injury.

  • Precision

    arrow

What it Means:Pilates isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing better. Precision ensures each movement is executed for maximum effectiveness.

Why it Matters: Mastery lives in the details. When you move with precision, you train your body to perform at its highest potential.

  • Flow

    arrow

What it Means:Flow is the art of moving with control and continuity — each movement transitions smoothly into the next, creating a sense of rhythm and grace.

Why it Matters:It creates a smooth, focused rhythm that keeps your body engaged and your mind present from start to finish.

  • Breath

    arrow

What it Means:Breath fuels movement and creates rhythm, calm, and control in the body.

Why it Matters:Breath is your body’s built-in power source. Learning to breathe with intention helps release tension, power movement, and ground your nervous system.

Our mission is to provide results-driven Pilates in a welcoming, community-centered space where every client, from beginner to advanced, feels seen, supported, and challenged. Whether you're building strength, improving mobility, or enhancing your athletic performance, Pilates Six delivers a comprehensive and empowering experience.

  • What types of classes do you offer?

    dropdown

At Pilates Six, we offer a variety of reformer-based classes for all levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Our class formats are designed to keep your practice dynamic, effective, and fun.

In addition to our level-based classes, we offer specialty formats including:

    • Legs & Glutes
    • Arms & Core

We also offer private and semi-private sessions for those looking for more personalized instruction tailored to their specific goals or needs.

  • Do I need Pilates experience to join?

    dropdown

No experience necessary! We recommend starting with our Reformer 1 or Intro classes— they’re beginner-friendly and the perfect way to start your Pilates journey. Our instructors will guide you every step of the way.

  • What equipment will I use in class?

    dropdown

Every class at Pilates Six is built around the Reformer—it’s the foundation of our workouts and used in every session. Each station is fully equipped with a Reformer, EXO Chair, Springboard, TRX straps, weights, Magic Circle, and more. While you won’t use every piece of equipment in every class, our instructors rotate them regularly to keep your body challenged and your workouts fresh. Each piece offers a unique movement experience, targeting your muscles in new ways so your body never gets stagnant and your progress never plateaus.

  • What do I need to wear and bring to class?

    dropdown

Wear comfortable, supportive activewear that allows you to move with ease. We recommend more fitted clothing, as very loose items can shift during class—especially in movements where your legs are lifted or elevated. Grip socks are required for safety and are available for purchase in the studio. Please bring your own water; bottled water is available for purchase. All Pilates equipment is provided for you.
